I own this car now and it lives in perth. what a hoot! unfortunately today the front brakes seized on the way to look at a spitfire which had been owned byt he same couple for some 40 odd years (now about 80), i left hoping they would hang on to the car for a few years yet...a great story. Anyway the herald still runs sweet, in the 4 or five months I have had it I have rewired it (fuses and relays etc) and while I put new tyres on the front about 10 weeks ago the news are already looking a bit sad. While I'm not the slowest bloke around I think this has more to do with the camber which is on the list of things to look at.

the herald is still running sweet though today had front brake seize up...job for sunday. in the ;last few months have had a lot of fun...rewired the car after a small fire (fuses and relays now installed) and new front tyres which have rapidly chewed out (really will have to look at the front camber!

Hey Russell, I've been folowing this car for a few years and I also live in perth, what area are you in? Would love to see this car in person. I've got an Australian model 12/50, which is basically a 1200 coupe with a vitesse bonnet that I've been restoring for a few years and I've got plans to do similar mods to mine, or maybe a swap to a spitfire 1500, depends what funds will allow.
